Recipe: Salted Caramel Slice
220g (1 3/4 cups) plain flour, plus extra for dusting
180g (3/4 cup) sugar
3 tsp baking powder
80g (6oz) butter, melted
185ml (3/4 cup) warm milk
4 eggs, separated
1 tsp vanilla extract
500ml (2 cups) double cream
2 tbsp icing sugar
1 jar of The Jam Bandits Salted Caramel
Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a 3cm deep, 28 x 18cm pan.
Combine flour, sugar, coconut and butter in a bowl. Mix well.
Press into prepared pan. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until light golden. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
Pour salted caramel over cooked base. Bake for 12 minutes or until firm. Allow to cool and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours, or until caramel has set.
Melt chocolate in microwave or over a pot of simmering water. Pour melted chocolate over caramel and refrigerate until set.
Once set, cut into squares and enjoy!
